The roller diameter and inner width are the same for these sizes as the single-pitch version. But the site is twice as big (hence the name “double site”). Because of the pitch difference, the pressure Angle on the sprocket differs from the single-pitch version. Therefore, for 30 teeth or less, a “double pitch sprocket” must be used for a “double pitch chain.” For 31 teeth and above, double-pitch chains can be used with any standard single-pitch sprocket without operating defects.

For example, the C2060H chain will adequately mesh with the 60B33 sprocket. However, the same chain cannot be engaged with the 60B17 sprocket; In this case, the 2060B17 sprocket must be used.

It is important to note that standard roller double-pitch sprockets are double-duty, which means there are two teeth per pitch. This means that the sufficient number of teeth is half the actual number.
